The President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Yerevan State University Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Chess Federation of Armenia

Mr. Sargsyan, currently the President of the Republic of Armenia, has an extensive background in the political field.A native of Stepanakert (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic), Mr. Sargsyan began his political career in 1979 as the Division Head at the Stepanakert City Communist Party Youth Association Committee and eventually became Assistant to Genrikh Poghosyan, the First Secretary of the Nagorno-Karabakh Regional Committee. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Sargsyan led the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Self-Defense Forces Committee during crucial times and in times of battle. His efforts earned him the title of Hero of Artsakh. Mr. Sargsyan served as the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia from 1993 to 1995, as well as from 2000 to 2007. On April 4th, 2007, Mr. Sargsyan was appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, but was soon thereafter elected as the 3rd President of the Republic of Armenia on February 19th, 2008. Vice Prime Minister, RA Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms

Vache Gabrielyan is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms, after being appointed in November of 2014. Mr. Gabrielyan earned a Master of Public Administration in 1992 from Rutgers University in New Jersey, U.S.A., and returned to Armenia to earn a PhD in Public Administration in 1998 from Yerevan State University. In 1998, Mr. Gabrielyan became Advisor to the President of the Central Bank of Armenia and in 1999 became a Board Member of the Central Bank of Armenia until 2008. Mr. Gabrielyan was named Vice-President of the Central Bank of Armenia and served as Vice-President until 2010. After two years, Mr. Gabrielyan was appointed Minister of Finance of the Republic of Armenia, serving the position until 2012. Chairman of the Board of the EEC

Tigran Sargsyan, currently the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, previously served as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia from 2008 to 2014. After receiving his PhD at Leningrad Financial and Economic Institute in 1987, Mr. Sargsyan began his career as a senior research worker and head of the International Economic ties unit at the Research and Development Institute of Economy and Planning. Mr. Sargsyan has had extensive and substantial experience in the banking and finance industries, serving as Chairman of the Armenia Banker’s Association from 1995 to 1998 and being elected as the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia in 1998. Mr. Sargsyan was reelected as Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia in 2005.
